When a 16-year-old has been arrested multiple times in his life already, you likely think of some lost soul who’s too far involved with drugs, gang activity, or worse. What you wouldn’t see is Josh Alexander, a boy who was just arrested, again, for handing out Bibles.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Alexander was arrested on Wednesday in Calgary, Canada, for doing nothing more than handing out Bibles at a peaceful protest. And yes, I mean peaceful. (This is not one of those “peaceful demonstrations” that include breaking windows, throwing Molotov cocktails, and burning down buildings.
As Alexander wrote on his Twitter profile, he was arrested and “put in a paddy wagon for offering students bibles on a public sidewalk in Calgary.”
He also noted that he was released shortly afterward and told that if he returned, he would again be arrested, but this time charged.
Of course, that didn’t stop him. As he confirmed on Twitter, “I continued handing out bibles. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.”
Good for him.
I mean, can you imagine being arrested for simply handing out Bibles or supporting your faith? It’s outrageous.
Of course, this isn’t Alexander’s first arrest, either. If you’ve heard his name before, it’s likely because he was also arrested back in February for simply attending school. As the New York Post tells it, he was suspended from his Catholic high school after protesting newly installed transgender bathrooms. Additionally, Alexander scientifically claimed there to only be two sexes.
Naturally, Alexander bucked his discipline, knowing that he shouldn’t be suspended for standing up for what he believes in. So when he showed up to school, he was arrested.
Now, it’s happened again. Apparently, his views were too “inflammatory” according to police. But just like before, it’s not discouraging his faith.
Instead, some would say it’s making him even stronger.
