Hey Google, Bury This: Trump Vows to Prosecute Tech Giant for Election Interference

As the full extent of Google’s bias against former President Donald Trump is revealed, the Republican presidential nominee has vowed to prosecute the tech giant for “election interference.”

In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump points out that Google unfairly showed only negative stories about him and his campaign while only showing positive stories about Kamala Harris. Some of the stories, Trump says, are made up. This is said to be illegal, and the person hopes the Justice Department will act over what he calls “election interference.” Trump pledges to seek “maximum level prosecution” if he wins the election in November.

Trump’s vow follows a study by the Media Research Center (MRC) that showed Google is boosting search results to favor Kamala Harris while burying search results for his campaign.

In the past, Google hid the websites of Republican candidates. Now, it fills its search results with news articles from left-leaning sources. Many of these articles criticize Republicans and are neutral or positive about Democrats. People have to go through these biased news headlines before finding the answer to their search queries, including conservative candidates’ websites.

Researchers from MRC Free Speech America searched for “donald trump presidential race 2024” and “kamala harris presidential race 2024” on September 6 to see where Google would place each candidate’s campaign website. In both searches, news from left-leaning outlets like CNN and The New York Times appeared at the top of the results.

Donald Trump’s campaign website was sixth in the results for “Donald Trump presidential race 2024.” But before reaching it, readers would see seven articles from left-wing sources like The New York Times, Politico, and The Washington Post under the “Top Stories” section.

It’s nothing new for Google. In June, MRC found Google was burying search results for Trump while boosting President Joe Biden to the top of the list. The MRC’s research, done just days before the debate between Biden and Trump, showed clear differences in how Google shows search results for different candidates. When researchers searched for a candidate’s name and “presidential race 2024,” they found President Biden’s campaign website at the top. Trump’s website didn’t even appear on the first page.

This calculated bias has caused people to accuse Google of election interference. MRC President Brent Bozell said, “Google is clearly interfering in the 2024 election.” The research also suggests that the problem affects more than just Biden and Trump. Pro-life candidates are getting worse search rankings, too.

Google also downplayed Trump’s assassination attempt, an action they call an “innocent mistake.”

Breitbart News reported that when people typed “assassination attempt on” into Google’s search bar, the auto-complete feature didn’t suggest the July incident involving Trump. Instead, it showed suggestions about historical figures like Bob Marley and former President Ronald Reagan.

When people typed in “assassination attempt trum” — leaving out just the last letter of Trump’s name — Google’s auto-complete suggested “Truman,” “President Truman,” and “Harry Truman” instead of anything related to Donald Trump. When users typed the whole phrase “assassination attempt Trump” into Google’s search bar, no auto-complete suggestions showed up.

Google claimed that “no one manually changed the auto-complete suggestions” and that they are “working on improvements” to the feature. Google explained that their system has protections to stop auto-complete from showing suggestions related to political violence.

Google may be leading the way in its bias against Trump, but the mainstream media is cheerleading the censorship. Several outlets, like CNN and The Washington Post, responded to the July assassination attempt with questionable headlines such as, “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally,” “Trump removed from stage after loud noises startled former president, crowd,” and “Trump speech interrupted by Secret Service.”

Newsweek published a disinformation headline titled, “Donald Trump Might Not Have Been Shot After All,” quoting FBI Director Christopher Wray, who wrongly said, “There’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.”

An August study by the Media Research Center found that television networks gave Kamala Harris 84 percent “positive coverage” since she started her campaign, while former President Donald Trump received 89 percent negative coverage.

The MRC studies are important because they reveal that undecided voters looking for Trump’s policy solutions must sort through many biased liberal links before they stumble on anything related to Trump’s actual website.

Trump is coming out swinging against the inherent bias of the leftist-owned media, but don’t expect Google to cover it on page one. Emboldened by the success of its censorship, Google feels it is above the law. And, as liberals continue to claim, no one is above the law.

Not even Google.
