Despite not being the newest footage, the latest viral sensation of UFO footage shows the craft doing many bizarre things. From changing colors to shape, and even bursting into flames, it left experts baffled when it initially emerged. Now that the Discovery Channel is talking about it, even their experts remain uncertain of what it is.

Those filming the object were confused as well, with one calling it “a ship.” Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t conclusively shaped or moving in a specific way. For experts like the History Channel’s aviation and military analyst Tim McMillan, it looks most like a balloon. The problem is, that the shape doesn’t fit, a balloon doesn’t move like this, and no form of propulsion. While the reflective surface is certainly something they may share, that’s the end of it.

Ignoring the flames as if they don’t matter, McMillan’s “expertise” is somewhat questionable in this situation. Especially since a balloon would be wafting down if it had caught fire, with the helium going up in flames quickly. Thus, his explanation is not only suspicious, but it’s very likely wrong, too.

Getting back to the age-old answer, this is most likely a UFO, and it leaves more questions than answers for the people who saw it. The flames could be indicative of it punching through or across the atmosphere, but it seems that it may be too close for that. What would make sense with that said is a broken propulsion system. With how the craft was moving, and the peculiar nature of its origins, this not only is a logical answer but one that fits the pattern of UFO behavior over the years.
