Gov. Kathy Hochul penned legislation on September 20th that was aimed directly at former President Trump in his reelection hopes.
She is scheduling the NY Presidential Primary on April 2nd, 2024, just a week after Trump is scheduled to answer charges in a NY federal courtroom on March 25, 2024 is a dastardly measure. Trump is facing four charges filed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and Trump seems confident he will walk away easily.
The indictments were filed back in March and are over his falsification of business records when he allegedly reimbursed a hush money payment.
In the statement, Hochul sees nothing wrong with her choice of primary date, if anything, she thinks this will help ensure the security and integrity of the state’s elections. “By safeguarding the integrity of our electoral process and ensuring equal access to the ballot box, we empower every New Yorker to have their voice heard. New York State remains committed to strengthening our democratic process, championing the right to vote for every citizen, and cementing our place as a national leader on voting rights.”
Meanwhile, six other states, including Florida, have their primaries just before his court date. The Sunshine State also happens to have nearly the same number of delegates that the four early-voting states- Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina, have combined.
Other major primaries are also centered around his court dates. A May 20th court date over allegations of mishandling classified information is a day just before Kentucky and Oregon hold their primaries. Then days later, on June 4th, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota will be holding their primaries.
As the Daily Caller explained, things are even more complicated for Trump to start in 2024.
“The special counsel also indicted the former president in August over alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Smith pushed for a trial date on Jan 2, 2024, just before the first-in-the-nation nominating contest, the Jan. 15 Iowa Caucus. Judge Tanya Chutkan then set the date for March 4, 2024, the day prior to Super Tuesday, when Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia will hold their presidential preference contests.”
Collusion by NY Governor Hochul and others will likely be impossible to prove. With so many crucial days on the election calendar with primaries and everything else on the bill, it will be incredibly difficult for them to find “perfect” dates, especially with the left slinging so many charges on him at once. For a man who was never arrested before becoming President and who was a darling of not just NYC or NY but the United States before running for office, this makes very little sense on the surface.
Simply use your common sense and logic, and it becomes easy to see what happened.
This is a desperate attempt by the liberal left to ensure nobody but the poster boy for Dementia stays living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. With Trump as his strongest opponent, they like their odds if they take him out of the race best. Even if they don’t take him off the ballot, they simply limit his reach and the number of people voting for him, they believe they can have enough to take the win.
With his next closest challenger being Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) being significantly behind Trump in the polls, both the liberal left and conservatives are certain he can take the primaries without a problem. Mind you, some people stand ready to challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination. A majority of mainstream news networks believe these challengers don’t present him with any real challenge, but with Trump being constrained, he could throw all his support behind a Democrat to challenge Biden instead of DeSantis.
