The Massachusetts Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning Youth has released its FY24 (1JUL2023-30JUN2024) 295-page report with frameworks for changing child abuse laws. While not a law-making entity, they do have some say in how laws are written and in turn enforced.
In their opinion, Massachusetts has a tremendous opportunity, and they can “stand up and enshrine safety and freedom of the right to autonomy and queer joy.”
Subsequently, in the report, they express officials opt to “Improve Massachusetts child abuse laws to explicitly include the withholding of gender-affirming care for LGBTQ youth.” The whole “gender-affirming care” idea involves genital mutilation, hormone replacement, as well as puberty blockers. “Care” like this is irreversible, and occurring at such a young age gives them no recourse to un-do a decision down the line. A distinction and problem many have figured out too late.
Those who have realized that this decision was a horrible mistake often find themselves largely falling into two different groups- the suicidal, and the advocates. The suicidal ones often become used as martyrs for their cause of death. The advocates are the oft-silenced voices of those who realized they didn’t know what they were doing until it was too late. Quickly learned that many regular women stopped seeing them as an ally and instead treated them differently. They realized that they were out of their element and unable to go back.
Going even further, the report wants special codes for LGBTQ kids and families. With Governor Maura Haley bringing her Democratic plans for overhauling physical and sexual education to shove more of their gender identity education down the throats of American youth, and to poison their brains with.
